Where do I even start? This entire day was so dreamy! I loved getting to work with Dayna and Jonathan for their wedding day in downtown Chicago at Holy Name Cathedral and The Union League Club. I first met Jonathan when photographing his sister’s wedding 3 years ago. When I met Dayna once she and Jonathan were engaged, I knew we were a great fit for one another! We had an amazing engagement session together at Cantigny a few months later. As the wedding day drew closer, I knew that with Chi Chic Weddings & Events, Zuzu’s Petals, MaryMonica Music, and more as a part of their vendor team, ot was going to be beautiful and an absolute blast for everyone involved.

As I arrived to the Union League Club that morning, I was greeted with hugs from family members I knew from the Datskos-Cottrell wedding 3 years ago (LOVED that day with Chris + Emily!) which totally made my day. I also saw the beautiful invitations that were created by Magnificent Milestones. The invites had colorful, yet subtle tones of hunter green, gold, and white on the envelope liner, which I absolutely adored. Just wait till you see it for yourself below! It worked perfectly with the gold tones in the church as well as the navy and gold accents in the Union League Club’s ballroom. After Dayna put on her wedding gown, she chose to have a first look with her bridesmaids and her father. I love this new tradition! The bridesmaids wore different styles of hunter green dresses while the groomsmen wore classic black tuxes.

After the ceremony, Jonathan and Dayna exited the church as their wedding guests surrounding them with bubbles. It was so beautiful! Soon after, we went to Olive Park for a few portraits before it was time to head back to the Union League Club for the reception. It was my first time photographing at the Union League Club and it did NOT disappoint. It is SO beautiful there. I loved the navy blue on the walls, decor, and carpet. Dayna and Jonathan chose the best accent colors to showcase the room – with white tablecloths, green and white florals, and the gold candelabras on the tables. The reception was filled with so much laughter and joy! All of the speeches were so heartfelt and the first dance was sung by the bride’s sister and maid of honor (who by the way has an incredible voice)! It was an amazing day all around and I feel so honored to have been the one to capture such a special day for Dayna and Jonathan.

Congratulations Dr and Mrs Cottrell!
