Julia and Dan are the sweetest couple! I had so much fun photographing their engagement session last year and their beautiful wedding at The Joinery just a few weeks ago. The Joinery is definitely one of my new favorite venues and is located in Logan Square. I love The Joinery because it’s quaint, charming, and unique, plus the people at the Joinery are so great to work with! Julia and Dan got ready at The Gwen hotel and had an intimate first look on the balcony of one of the rooms. It was the perfect place for them to enjoy a few minutes alone and to see each other for the first time. I love how they were looking at each other the whole day – with so much adoration. I also loved how they included special heirlooms into their wedding day like how the wrapping around Julia’s bouquet was from her mother’s dress and that she wore her late grandmother’s pearl bracelet. The groomsmen wore black tuxes while Dan wore a navy one and the bridesmaids wore beautiful light blue, almost periwinkle looking bridesmaid dresses and carried classic white and green floral bouquets. The ceremony and reception were held at the Joinery and the flower wall, created by Ashland Addison Florist, was the centerpiece of it all. It was stunning! The food from their reception was provided by the Boka catering group and it did not disappoint. I was so impressed with the food, efficiency, and the friendly staff! The reception had a small travel theme to it which I loved. They had a “where in the world are you sitting” seating chart and table numbers with some of their favorite places around the world on each table. Toast and Jam kept the dance floor hopping all night long. It was a blast to photograph Julia, Dan, and all their guests out on the dance floor! So without further ado, here are my favorites from their day!
