I ended the month of October with these cuties at City Hall, a new venue in the Chicago west loop. I first met Nora on her sister Emily’s wedding day and met Matt that day as well at the reception. I remember thinking how cute they were together! When Nora reached out to me a few months later telling me she and Matt were engaged, I was so excited! She told me about her rustic, fall inspiration surrounded by modern burgundy touches – which, as expected, were beautiful. On the day of their wedding, it was raining. And I’m not talking about a little rain…I’m talking like a total downpour. All. day. long. We were all in shock as the forecast didn’t predict this at all until about a day or two before the wedding. But I, of course, had a back up plan! 🙂 We decided to take photos inside the beautiful Art Institute of Chicago and even ventured into the south garden area to take some photos underneath my clear umbrellas. After that, we made our way back to the west loop to take photos against two walls that are covered so we wouldn’t get rained on. The two walls (to me) told two completely different stories which I loved. The white and brown wall went so well with the rest of the day and their rustic wedding venue…and reminded me of like two lives joining together to create a masterpiece. Call me crazy, but I think of this kind of stuff when I pick places to take photos! I like to think that the colorful wall represented their fun, easy-going, and young personalities. It was a fan favorite! All of the people in the bus came out into the cold for their own photo in front of the wall. It always makes me happy when other people get excited about photo locations too! My favorite thing about Nora and Matt is how adventurous and trusting they were throughout the entire planning process. They were willing to whatever I wanted to do photo wise and trusted me the whole way saying “I know the pictures will be gorgeous no matter what!” They allowed me to be creative and were up for anything. The results? Some photos that no other couple I’ve ever photographed has. Of course, we got some beautiful and classic Chicago photos that I always love too! But gosh it’s so fun to step out of the box sometimes and create something so unique…something new. Thank you guys for trusting me 100% and for asking me to be the one to capture your beautiful day. Congratulations again you two… The new Mr and Mrs Levine!
