Intimate Franklin, TN Courthouse Wedding

One of the most beautiful things about weddings is that no two ever look or feel the same. Every couple brings their own story, their own style, and their own way of celebrating the beginning of their marriage. Nicole and Taylor’s courthouse wedding in Franklin, TN was a beautiful reminder of that truth. Their celebration was simple in structure, but overflowing with meaning, emotion, and intention.

Their story with me began long before the wedding day. I photographed their engagement session on Percy Priest Lake in Nashville — one of my favorite sessions to date. By the time their courthouse day arrived, I already knew their dynamic, their energy, and the way they naturally fall into step with each other.

From the moment I arrived, I could feel how special this day was for them. Courthouse weddings have a unique kind of tenderness — there’s no rush, no distractions, no long list of moving parts. Instead, the focus stays on the couple, their families, and the commitment they’re making. Nicole and Taylor embraced that simplicity in the most beautiful way.

One of my favorite parts of the day was Nicole’s dress. At first glance, it looked timeless and elegant, but the story behind it made it even more meaningful. The gown was originally her mother’s wedding dress, lovingly reimagined and redesigned for Nicole to wear. It was such a sweet, full‑circle detail that added even more depth to their day.

Being invited into intimate celebrations like this is something I never take for granted. Nicole and Taylor’s courthouse wedding was heartfelt, intentional, and full of quiet beauty — a day that proves love doesn’t need anything extravagant to feel extraordinary. It was an honor to document a chapter of their story that they’ll carry with them forever.
