James and John’s newborn session was the kind of day that reminds me why I love studio photography so much. There’s something incredibly peaceful about bringing a family into a soft, naturally lit space where everything is calm, warm, and intentionally designed for little ones. For twins especially, a studio setting makes all the difference. No distractions, no rushing, just a quiet environment where everyone can settle in and breathe. It creates the perfect backdrop for capturing those early moments that pass far too quickly.

Meeting Eloise and Michael with their boys was such a joy. Michael went to high school with my husband, Vince, which made the session feel even more meaningful. Watching them step into this new season as parents of two tiny boys was incredibly sweet. Newborn sessions always carry a certain tenderness, but with twins, that feeling seems to double. Twice the snuggles, twice the tiny stretches, twice the little personalities already beginning to show.

We began with solo portraits of each baby, giving James and John their own moment in front of the camera. Even at just days old, their personalities were already peeking through. Then we brought them together, capturing the way they naturally curled into each other, already comforted by the presence of their built‑in best friend. Twin photos always feel like magic. There’s a connection between them that you can see long before they understand the world around them.

After that, we moved into parent portraits. Eloise held her boys with such gentleness, and Michael’s pride was written all over his face. From there, we finished with full family photos. These are the images that become heirlooms and the ones that will hang on walls and be passed down for years. A studio session allows for that timeless, clean look that keeps the focus exactly where it belongs: on the love, the connection, and the tiny details you never want to forget.

Photographing James and John was such an honor, and documenting this new chapter for their family is something I’ll always treasure. Sessions like this are a reminder of how beautiful these early days are—quiet, fleeting, and full of love.
