Fall at Smith Park has a way of creating the most beautiful backdrop for family photos, and the Reekstin family’s mini session was no exception. The soft light and crisp air made the perfect setting for capturing this sweet family in such a natural and joyful season of life. Mini sessions may be short, but they hold so much meaning. This one was filled with moments I know they’ll treasure for years to come!

One of the reasons I love offering fall mini sessions is because they make updating family photos simple and stress‑free. Life moves quickly, especially with little ones, and it’s so easy for months or even years to pass without pausing to document how much has changed. A quick session is often all it takes to preserve a season that would otherwise slip by unnoticed. The Reekstins embraced that beautifully, showing up with warmth, laughter, and the sweetest connection.

The bond between the two siblings was one of my favorite parts of the session. Watching them interact was such a joy to photograph. Sibling relationships are full of tiny, fleeting moments, and capturing those small expressions and gestures is one of the things I love most about family photography.

And of course, we made time for a few portraits of mom and dad. Parents often forget to step in front of the camera, but these images always end up being some of the most special. It’s a reminder that their story matters too — not just as parents, but as partners building a life together.

Mini sessions like this one are a beautiful way to freeze time, even for just a moment. The Reekstin family brought so much love and sweetness to their session, and it was an honor to document their fall memories at Smith Park.
