I had a wonderful time with Ashley and John on their special day! Ashley and John are the sweetest, most laid back couple. Their downtown Chicago engagement session was a true joy to photograph. Ashley and John first met while both working at Discover in Chicago. John attended business school in Chicago, and after the couple moved to Seattle. It was so nice to have this photo session in the place where their relationship started and blossomed.
Ashley and John originally planned a large wedding celebration in Chicago. However, like many couples, they faced a difficult decision when the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Because of the pandemic, they opted for a small gathering along the Chicago Riverwalk on the day that their original wedding was supposed to happen. Both being avid runners and athletes, Ashley and John each started their days by going for a run. Their intimate wedding ceremony took place at the finish line, which was a predetermined spot along the Riverwalk. Ashley and John sported their matching Mr. and Mrs. workout tees and face masks for their ceremony. After, they changed and got ready for our celebratory “just married” photo session at the Lincoln Park Zoo and in downtown Chicago near where they were married earlier that day.
I loved being a part of Ashley and John’s intimate wedding day and “just married” session. Our downtown Chicago engagement session following the ceremony was the cherry on top of an already amazing day. It was such a nice way to commemorate this moment! Congratulations, Ashley and John!
