one year studio sessionBaby Aeris’ one‑year studio session felt like such a full‑circle moment — the kind that reminds me why I love documenting a family’s story from the very beginning. I’ve had the joy of photographing Aeris since before she even arrived, starting with Chelsea’s maternity session, followed by her newborn photos, her six‑month milestone, and now her first birthday. Watching her grow through each stage has been such a privilege and seeing her little personality shine in the studio for her one‑year session was the sweetest celebration of how much can change in just twelve months.

The first year moves fast. One day you’re holding a tiny newborn, and before you know it, you’re watching a curious one‑year‑old explore the studio. Because everything changes so quickly, documenting these stages matters. That’s why I created the First Year Collective. It allows families to choose three or four milestones throughout their baby’s first year. This way, they can hold onto the moments that often slip by unnoticed. It also gives me the chance to walk alongside them through such a meaningful season.

Aeris’ one‑year session took place in my Jackson studio, which is designed to give families a clean, timeless backdrop that keeps the focus on their little one. The soft light and neutral tones allow every expression, every tiny detail, and every milestone moment to shine. For babies especially, the studio creates a calm, simple environment where their personality can take center stage without distractions.

Looking back at Aeris’ first year is such a beautiful reminder of how meaningful these sessions are. They’re not just photos; they’re pieces of a family’s story, preserved in a way that can be held, shared, and cherished for years to come. Watching Aeris grow has been such a joy, and I’m so grateful to have been part of her journey through this unforgettable first year.
