I’m a huge fan of taking time each year to do something just for yourself. Just for the fun of it. Styled shoots are a great way for entrepreneurs in the wedding industry to let loose and do something a little out of the norm. Back in April, Carisma and I met to catch up over lunch. We really got to know more about one another that day and a few days later attending a performance of Carmen at the Lyric Opera House in Chicago. Our mutual love for music and dance inspired this styled shoot.
As with any event, there are some things that go exactly as planned and there’s some things that happen unexpectedly. The venue we had originally planned backed out only a few weeks before the shoot, so we decided to shoot on Montrose Beach. Despite the crazy wind and chilly weather, the vendors that were able to make the shoot were such amazing help to me. I cannot thank you enough, Katie and Alyssa! The models were absolutely incredible. Kristian and Terence are dancers as well as actors…and they also happen to be dating. They just wrapped up their performances for My Fair Lady at the opera house and Kristian just finished dancing for the “Dirty Dancing On Tour” production. Like, they’re legit guys! I was blown away when they told me of their experience. Carisma was able to get in touch with a cellist so we could incorporate her into the shoot and really pull the music theme together with an instrument. We were so excited that Victoria could join us. This shoot was so much fun and was truly a dream come true. I had so much fun working with this incredible team of vendors and hope you love this shoot as much as we do!
