This wedding was such a joy to photograph! I got to meet Kent for the first time in South Bend, Indiana near the Notre Dame campus something like 8 years ago now (wow!). At that time, he was rooming with my brother-in-law and 2 other guys (all of which were a part of his wedding party). I have so many fond memories of hanging out with them all especially after attending Notre Dame football games each year they attended the university. About a year ago, I got to meet Alexa after she came over to my home with Kent one afternoon. It was so fun getting to watch them together, and it was even more exciting when they asked me to be their wedding photographer!
Kent and Alexa’s wedding ceremony was held at Saint Mary of Vernon Catholic Church in Vernon Hills and then we ventured to Mundelein for couple and wedding party photos at the stunning St Mary of the Lake Seminary. While there, I learned that we were right next to Kent’s childhood home! It made it even more special to take photos there. I loved the periwinkle dresses that the bridesmaids wore and the classic black suits that the men chose. The florals were designed by Flowers for Dreams and they were simply that…dreamy!
Since their engagement, Kent and Alexa have moved to Costa Rica for work and they planned their wedding abroad. This was one of the reasons why they chose to have a Costa Rican themed reception at The Lakewood! The space was complete with coastal blue tablecloths, wood chairs, and a decorative wall featuring lots of rainforest green leaves behind the sweetheart table. A friend of Kent and Alexa’s designed the adorable seating chart and table cards that included animals native to Costa Rica. They also had a whiskey tasting station and a churro stand that night! Another special and momentous item that they featured in their wedding decor was a table with framed emails that they had sent to one another when they first started talking. Kent and Alexa initially met as pen-pals through work. After many emails and getting to know one another, they met in person and started dating. How cute is that?! I can’t wait to see what this amazing couples does in the future.
Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Liederbach! I hope you both have an amazing honeymoon in Argentina!
