Welcoming baby Lottie into the world stands as one of the most powerful moments I’ve ever witnessed. Photographing my first birth session felt like stepping straight into a sacred space. The room carried anticipation, strength, and a quiet kind of love that wrapped around everything. Birth is raw and magical, and documenting this experience for Cody and Chelsea remains one of the greatest honors of my career.

From the start, tenderness filled every corner of the room. Chelsea moved through labor with calm, steady determination that left me in awe. She stayed focused and grounded, showing incredible bravery with each moment. Cody never left her side — encouraging her, holding her hand, and reminding her she had a partner in every step. Watching them work together deepened the weight of the experience. Their connection turned the room into a place of courage and devotion.

And then came the moment I’ll never forget.  The doctor looked at Chelsea and said, “Alright mom, you tell me if it’s a girl or boy!” Chelsea’s voice cracked as she shouted, “GIRL!!” Emotion flooded the room instantly — joy, relief, and overwhelming love all at once. My birth experience was through c-section with both of my girls. While still beautiful and wonderful (and I wouldnt change it for the world), photographing this birth was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced as a photographer.

Sweet Winnie rushed in soon after, bursting with excitement to meet her baby sister. She even helped choose her name, adding another layer of sweetness to the day. Her pride reminded me that birth isn’t just about welcoming a new baby — it’s about expanding a family, strengthening bonds, and marking the beginning of a brand‑new chapter.

Documenting stories like this is something I’ll never take for granted. Lottie’s arrival brought beauty, emotion, and unforgettable moments. It’s a story her family will cherish for years to come.
