It’s that time of year again … it’s time for the annual behind the scenes blog post! And, I think, it’s better than ever!  This year is a little different than the previous years because I was pregnant (20 weeks and 36 weeks) for the first 2 weddings. It’s amazing how much that bump grows in that amount of time! Trust me… you’ll see! This post always give me so much joy because I get to look back on all of the moments I was able to capture and be a part of. It also makes me laugh and shake my head at all the crazy faces I make!

First of all, I want to give a special thanks to all of my second shooters for this year’s photos. If it wasn’t for you, this post would not be possible. Much love to all of you for capturing the serious and goofy sides of me, and for the photos I get with each couple. I cherish them so much! 🙂 And last but not least, thank you to my AMAZING couples for being my cheerleaders throughout my pregnancy. As you all probably know, photographing weddings can be really hard on a body. Photographers are constantly on our feet, rarely with a break to sit or think about ourselves. Thank you for always checking on me and offering me food or water, celebrating with me when Ellie was born, and for send us gifts. You are all so special to me and I cannot thank you enough for your kindness! So without further ado, I hope you enjoy 2018’s behind the scenes blog post!

20 weeks pregnant and photographing a wedding really wasn’t so bad! Also, I have no idea why I’m not using the camera strap here. LOL
To the windowwwww…to the wall!
Lining up the bridesmaids before seeing the bride in her gown for the first time!I love styling details! All I need is a large window 🙂Cutting the cake has never been so awkward.Eek! Look at that little baby bump!Hey there, Ellie!

36 weeks pregnant…and this photo says it all.

Sing it with me now! “To the right now y’all. Two hops this time!”

It was just a LITTLE chilly. LOL

Whew-we, look at those sexy swollen ankles! 😉

From the back, you’d never know. But as soon as I turn around… BAM! There’s Ellie! lol

Excuse me… preggo coming through.

Just loved this day, this couple, and this bridal party. They were the best!

And 6 weeks later, I’m back at it again! This time I’m photographing, Molly, the cousin of McKenna, the bride I photographed when I was 36 weeks pregnant! How fun is that?! Can I just photograph their entire family, because they are all so stinking sweet!

Creeper status.

The fall, per usual, was a whirlwind of weddings but oh so fun! Loved working with all of these amazing couples! I feel so lucky to have captured so much love!

“Come follow me into the street!” Always sounds like a good idea, right? JK I promise I look out for you!
See? 🙂

Photos of me demonstrating a pose crack me up!

Oh there I am in the street again! Worth it.

Photobomb!

Photographing at the stunning St Mary of the Angels church. One of my favorites!

You can always count on me to stand in and test light.

And to photograph you like you’re the only ones around…even though that’s rarely ever the case in Chicago.

Sometimes, I like to play where’s waldo. “I whip my hair back and forth”I love wedding parties! Aren’t they all so stunning?

I am a very detail oriented photographer, so I look at everything before taking a picture. I’m always there to help fluff your dress, pull your hair back, or fix your tie.

What it REALLY looks like in those getting ready rooms.

First looks have my heart. Let’s brainstorm where you want to see your fiance for the first time on your wedding day! I love finding beautiful and unique spots!I photograph a lot of indoor weddings in downtown Chicago, but I love when I get the chance to travel outside the city and shoot outdoors! You’ll often get stunning sunset images a lot like these.

This is why I’m behind the camera instead of in front of it, ladies and gentlemen. But hey, I‘m not always awkward…I’ll give myself some credit. There are some times that I’m looking pretty cool.Just kidding. Back to reality.Yep. There we go.

I got to photograph so many amazing couples this year. Thank you all for trusting me with your special memories and for letting me be a part of your lives. I can’t wait to see what all you do in the future and in your marriages! And don’t forget… I photograph maternity, babies, and more!! Hit me up, peeps! 🙂

Peace out, 2018. You were amazing! Now I’m walking into 2019 knowing it’s only going to get better from here, and I can’t wait!
