I’m so excited to share Lane and Nick’s St Patricks Day engagement session in downtown Chicago with you all!! When Lane and I chatted about her engagement session I threw out some ideas and so did she, but ultimately she said “We’re super chill. We’d be thrilled with whatever you want to do.” A photographer’s dream! It gives me the ability to be super creative and take them to some locations that are totally new (to me AND them)! On the week of their session it rained for several days, so our idea of doing photos on the golf course (they love to golf together!) went out the window. However, I had the perfect spot in mind to take them to instead – a spot that I found several years ago but hadn’t had the opportunity to shoot at yet. I was so excited that they loved the spot as well! Since we did their engagement photos on Saint Patrick’s Day weekend, I couldn’t help but take them over to the river for some photos. For those that don’t know, Chicago dyes the river green every year for St Paddy’s Day and it’s so cool to see in person. I loved using the green river as a background of some of their photos to represent the time of year that they did their engagement pictures in downtown Chicago. We ended the session at their home nearby. I just love in-home engagement sessions! They’re always so casual, cozy, and comfortable. Lane and Nick had a beautiful wine bar in their home that also made for some really cute engagement photos! Don’t you think? Lane and Nick are so sweet and I can’t wait to photograph them again on their wedding day in October at the University Club of Chicago!
