All blog posts are fun for me to write, but this one is EXTRA fun! Vince and I are so excited announce that we’re expecting our first baby! This has been the hardest thing to keep under wraps for the past 12 weeks, so I’m thrilled that it’s now public knowledge 🙂

Baby Nord is due to arrive June 1, 2018!

I had met Vince for lunch one day in late September and I was ridiculously out of breath, a bit dizzy, and overall not feeling super well (especially in the heat). This had been going on for a few weeks, so I decided to make a trip to the doctor to see if I could figure out what was going on. I thought I might just be low in some vitamins or still recovering from the cold I had a few weeks prior, but alas, a pregnancy test was taken and I received the news that I was pregnant!

Baby Nord has already been to several cities, states, and countries! He/She is a little adventurer! A few weeks after we heard the news, we were jetting off to Spain. Our European vacation quickly and happily turned into a babymoon! Nausea kicked in on the trip, but my sweet husband took such good care of me! We took as many breaks as I needed, but still managed to see EVERYTHING on our list. We walked around 8 miles a day, went to a professional soccer game (Go Barca!), and climbed to the tallest point in Parc Guell (verrrrry carefully I might add!) I was between 6-8 weeks pregnant on the trip. Vince even took my first maternity photo for me (even though I wasn’t showing yet). This photo is so special to me!

Fast forward to today and we just had our 12 week checkup. The baby and I are doing wonderfully! We’re overwhelmed by the love and support that we’ve already received. I’m so excited to be having a baby alongside my sister, Lauren, who lives in Tennessee. Baby Nord will enter this world with not only proud grandparents, aunts, and uncles, but a COUSIN named Henry Joel! This is such a special time in my life and I could not have imagined ever being this excited about baby Nord’s arrival. I’m officially in the second trimester, so we’re a third of the way there!
