I absolutely loved this day with Kathleen and Dom! They are so nice, funny, and easy-going. They had a beautiful Jewish wedding ceremony at the W Chicago city center hotel downtown. The bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning in their black evening gowns! I loved literally all of their dresses but was star struck by the jumpsuit that one of the maid of honors chose to wear. So different from what I’ve ever seen (always fun for a photographer) 🙂 The ladies carried classic white and green floral bouquets designed by YJ Decorating! The one that Kathleen carried was a bit larger and even included some pale pink peonies which made her subtly stand out from the rest. And let’s talk about Kathleen’s GORGEOUS wedding gown! I’m a sucker for lace. It was also lightweight and fit Kathleen so perfectly.
Family is incredibly important to Kathleen and Dom. Watching how Kathleen and her mom were with one another was so heartwarming. They have such a sweet relationship and I love the moments they shared as Kathleen got dressed that morning as well as during her mother’s speech that night. Dom’s parents also shared a very touching speech during the reception that had many of us in tears. Kathleen and Dom had many loved ones who couldn’t be at the wedding and so they made a point to mention the lost loved ones during their “thank you” speech as well as displayed framed photos of them as everyone entered the reception ballroom. It was a very sweet way to remember their loved ones on this special day and to share the influence in their lives.
Kathleen and Dom had their first look next to the Chicago board of trade which is only steps away from the W Chicago city center hotel! Always a favorite of mine. I love the direction that they went with for the portraits of their day. We were very particular with our portrait location selections as it was important to Kathleen and Dom that their portraits looked very iconic, romantic, and obviously taken in Chicago. We chose the Adler Planetarium area with one of my absolute favorite skyline views of downtown Chicago as well as a section of the riverwalk that is pretty secluded yet includes some killer river and building views – a little hidden gem of mine. 🙂 Below are all of my favorite photos (hint: there was a lot) from their gorgeous black tie wedding at the W Chicago City Center hotel! Congratulations you two!
