Ryan contacted me back in November about his surprise proposal to his beautiful girlfriend Julie. He told me how he is from Knoxville, TN (I just LOVE how southern people find me up here in the midwest! 🙂 and that they are visiting Chicago later in December. From the beginning, he could only tell me of how gorgeous she was and how excited he was to plan this proposal. SO sweet! After chatting with him a while, he decided that the little nook right between the DuSable bridge on Michigan Ave and the Wrigley building was perfect for them! On their last trip to Chicago, they took a boat tour and the Wrigley building area was among their favorite spots.
After their leisure morning at the Art Institute of Chicago, Ryan told Julie that he really wanted to walk over to the Wrigley building to take a picture. Julie, not quite understanding why he’d want a photo of it again, just went with it.
After a few moments of picture taking, Ryan made sure I was behind them and then began to propose to Julie.
She couldn’t stop looking at her beautiful ring! It was Ryan’s grandmother’s setting so the ring held such a tremendous history, memory, and meaning for them both.
After the proposal and the initial shock of him popping the question, we took some time to enjoy the beautiful and emotional day by taking engagement photos around the city.
As the sun went down, it got even colder so we decided to stop for a quick coffee at Dunkin Donuts to warm up before the night shots began!
Congratulations you two! I am so happy to have photographed such a tremendous moment in your lives and it couldn’t have been more perfect!
