After searching our options for warm weather destinations in early April, we decided on Scottsdale, Arizona for our babymoon! As I told people we were taking a babymoon, many replied…”What’s that?!” A babymoon is a trip a couple takes before the baby arrives because once the baby comes, the couple won’t be traveling as much as they used to (well, not in our case! LOL We plan to travel lots of places with Ellie)! Some couples choose a destination super far away from their home or a place that would be really hard to fully enjoy with a baby. In our case, we just chose somewhere warm and relaxing so we could enjoy each other’s company and pamper ourselves as we prepared for our new addition. This was my last trip before being in the “no fly zone” as I call it with the airline companies. Once you’re 34 weeks, most airlines don’t want you to be flying just in case of preterm labor. I was 32 weeks for this trip and I’m so glad I didn’t wait any longer. Flying in the plane for 3.5 hours each way was difficult, but I did it – yay!
Scottsdale was everything we wanted it to be. It was warm, inviting, and peaceful. We chose to stay at the Copperwynd Resort and it was beautiful. I mean, just look at those white walls and pink flowers – so dreamy. We really enjoyed sitting by the pool in their large couch-like chairs, ordering margaritas (virgin for me, of course!), exploring the restaurant scene each night, sleeping in, and binge watching our favorite netflix shows while we cuddled in our insanely comfortable bed. We stayed 5 nights and I think it was the perfect amount of time. Much sooner and I would have been really sad to leave… although I was pretty sad come day 5 anyway. I was not ready for Chicago’s cold weather again!
Since most of our time was spent relaxing, I didn’t take a ton of photos, but I did manage to take SOME so we could remember this precious trip to Scottsdale together. Below are some of my favorites! P.S. If you’re ever in Scottsdale with your significant other and want to go on a romantic date night, I highly suggest Cafe Monarch! We had such a wonderful experience there.
